Due to the country's welcoming attitude toward Vietnamese students, Canada is one of the better options for students looking for a study destination.

Here is a list of opportunities in Canada for Vietnamese.

Canada Education System

Canada, with its best educational institutions, provides world-class education to international students from all over the world. With the French and English curriculum as an inherent component of the Canadian educational system, which enriches the country's culture and community life, it is no wonder that Canada ranks third in the world for higher education. Degrees and diplomas earned at Canadian educational institutions are internationally recognized, increasing earning potential not only in Canada but also in other countries around the world. • Doctorate or PhD, generally four to seven years

Student Direct Stream (SDS)

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) was established in June 2018 by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada to make your education process easier and faster (IRCC). SDS is a streamlined study permit application process for Vietnamese students who desire to study in Canada. Due to faster processing times and fewer financial papers are required, the application procedure is substantially simpler for Vietnamese.

Scholarships

Canada is a less expensive study abroad option than other popular study abroad destinations. With a number of scholarship opportunities accessible for Vietnamese students, you will certainly be able to reduce your expenses.

Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)

Global Affairs Canada provides short-term scholarships to ASEAN students for study or research opportunities at Canadian post-secondary academic institutions. The SEED program, which is related to the 2030 Vision for Sustainable Growth, offers professional development opportunities for Vietnamese in Canada through short-term courses.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)

Vanier scholarships are offered to Vietnamese students with leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in undergraduate studies in streams such as social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, engineering, and health. During three years of doctoral studies, Vietnamese students can be awarded up to $45,000 per year.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship program rewards Vietnamese postdoctoral students who want to contribute to Canada's economic, social, and research-based development. This fellowship aims to help Vietnamese students improve their leadership skills and become effective research leaders. The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is administered by Canada's three research granting councils - the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Post Study Work

The post-graduation work permit enables Vietnamese students to stay in Canada after they graduate and gain work experience. Students must, however, hold a degree from a recognized Canadian university. Graduates of certain recognized learning institutions are eligible for job permits (DLIs). PGWP-acquired Canadian work experience helps Vietnamese graduates apply for jobs in Canada in the long run.

Career Prospects in Canada

In Canada, there are several job opportunities. According to Statistics Canada's most recent reports, the country has introduced 2,90,000 new jobs, providing a multitude of opportunities for international students. Many new STEM-related jobs and various other career prospects have evolved in recent years, as Canada has emerged as a market hub in subjects such as science, technology, engineering, and math, as well as other significant industries such as healthcare, law, and education. As more firms and organizations continue to innovate, modernize, and extend their businesses, the demand for employees who can fill STEM-related positions is growing.

Permanent Residence

Vietnamese students who have graduated from a Designated Learning Institute are eligible for the Canadian Experience Class scheme. You can apply for Permanent Residence after working for at least a year as a full-time employee in Canada. As part of the benefits of a permanent residence visa, Vietnamese can enjoy the majority of the same social benefits as Canadian residents, such as health insurance coverage, and can live, work, or study in any province in Canada. In the future, you will be able to apply for Canadian citizenship.
